Easy Kothimbir Vadi Recipe.
recipeIngredient (used american measuring cup, 1 cup = 250 ml)
  • 2 cup oil for frying
  • 1 cup chopped coriander leaves
  • 1½ cup gram flour (besan / chickpea flour)
  • 1 and ¼th cup water
  • ½ t/s turmeric
  • 1 tbsp red chili powder
  • ½ tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp poppy seed
  • 1 tbsp white sesame seed (til)
  • 6 to 7 crushed peanuts
  • a pinch of hing
  • ½ tbsp coriander seed powder
  • salt as per taste
How to make the recipe?
  1. Combine all the ingredients except oil into a mixing bowl. Ensure all is mixed well and the batter is smooth. The consistency should be thick and not thin.
  2. Now take a microwave bowl. Pour the batter into it. Microwave on high power for 3 to 4 mins Or until skewer comes our clean.
  3. Allow the steamed cake to cool down. Slice into diamond Or square shape.
  4. Place oil in a kadai or a frying pan. Add oil and place on medium heat. The oil should be hot. Reduce the flame. Deep fry the squared cakes until golden brown. Fry 3 to 4 at a time.
  5. Serve hot with green chutney Or sauce.
Notes
1. Ensure the heat is on low mode while frying the fritters.
2. Also, the batter consistency should be thick and not thin batter.
