Poha and Oats Cutlets

  • 2 tbsp oil for shallow frying
  • 1.5 cup poha (beaten rice flakes)
  • 1 cup oats
  • 2 potato boiled, peeled and mashed
  • ½ onion chopped finely
  • ½ cup carrot grated
  • 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 1 green chili finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tbsp roasted cumin powder
  • 1 t/s fennel seed powder
  • 1 tbsp chat masala
  • ½ t/s turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp red chili powder
  • 1 t/s coriander seed powder
  • black salt as per taste
How to make the recipe?
  1. Take poha and oats in a colander Or strainer. Pass water through it. Allow the water to strain.
  2. Now combine all the ingredients for the cutlet except oil. Best is use your finger to mix them all.
  3. Now form small balls about an inch size slightly flatten it. Shallow fry them from both sides on medium heat until golden brown.
  4. Place the fried cutlets over absorbent napkins.
  5. Serve the poha oats cutlet hot with favorite sauce and chutney.
