- ½ cup oil for shallow frying
- 1 cup of thinly sliced karela (bittergourd)
- 1 tbsp pepper powder
- salt as per taste
- Take sliced karela in a wide plate or bowl and sprinkle pepper powder and salt. Mix all nicely.
- Heat oil in a deep pan.
- Once the oil is hot add the bitter gourd. Place the heat on medium mode or there are chances they might get burnt.
- Shallow fry the karela until they appear crisp and golden brown in color.
- Remove them with a slotted spoon and serve karela fries warm with food.
