This is my version of Granola Bar recipe. This Granola Bar Recipe is healthy, low fat, full of vitamins and proteins at the same time delicious. You can carry this Granola Bar along with you on a trip, trekking, while travelling, for breakfast, brunch. College going teens can carry this Granola Bar wrapped in their bags or lunch boxes. Even kids can carry Granola Bar while going to school. The best part is you can have this Granola Bar any time of the day when you feel like having them. Do try these Granola Bars it’s a must try!
Up-till now I have seen lot of granola bars made at home, on cookery shows, read in books. They all look great and I am sure tastes amazing. But we are not sure the ones we get in the market. How authentic or genuine they are? especially excess quantity of sugar, fructose syrup. I am not saying they are not good but its better to make this at home. Clean, hygiene, delicious and the way you wanna make them… also eat them when you want to
There are many ways and various flavors you can play with while making your Granola Bars. I have used both sesame seeds black+white. Also added almonds, pistachios and walnuts. Yeah also flax seeds powder. The equation is muesli+oats+flax seeds+sesame seeds+dry fruits= My Healthy Granola Bar! Power packed with the extra energy required in todays world.
Lets move towards making our healthy Granola Bar Recipe! Voila mom this Granola Bar Recipe is for you and dad.
Total Time: 10 mins
Serves: 5 people unless all are really hungry
- 1 cup Oats
- 4 tbsp Muesli
- 3 tbsp White Sesame seeds
- 3 tbsp Black Sesame Seeds
- 2 tbsp Flax seed powder
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract or Vanilla Essence
- 1/2 cup Honey
- 4 tbsp Butter
- 1/2 t/s Salt Or Sea Salt
- 1/2 cup Dry fruits (Raisins, Almonds, Pistachios, Walnuts)
- 1 tbsp Choco chips (Optional)
Take a wide metal plate grease with oil or butter from all sides. Take a parchment paper or butter paper. Place the paper on the greased bottom plate or dish.
Now take a mixing bowl. Combine oats, both black and white sesame seeds. Toast them for 10 to 12 mins at 180°C. Keep them stirring after every 3 mins else they might get burnt.
Get a small pan and keep on low gas flame. Add brown sugar, vanilla essence, honey, butter and salt.
Keep stirring until the sugar caramelizes. Now switch off the gas and stir the caramelized sugar again.
Combine dry fruits, raisins, muesli, roasted oats mixture and flax seeds powder. Mix all of them well.
Spread this mixture into the greased pan. Now fold wax or butter paper on the top Or cover with other paper on the top.
Take a chapati roller and roll on the top of the butter paper. Otherwise take a heavy object and press it with force. Try to flatten as much as you can.
Wait for 2 hours or once the granola bar is firm. Honestly I couldn’t wait for that long. As I was dying to take a bite. So once I flattened them with a roller. I gently rolled them from one side to other with help of butter paper. Once I rolled them I took a sharp knife and sliced them.
However you can see in the pics its not evenly sliced. So don’t be impatient like me wait for 2 hours and than slice them into desired shape. You can also cut them into square shapes with the help of knife.
Garnish your Granola Bar with few choco chips and dry fruits. Wrap them into aluminium foils or plastic wraps individually. Store them into air tight container. Once you wrap them you can carry them along with you.
- You can use pea nuts, coconut flakes, sun flower seeds for this Granola Bar Recipe.
- Try making a lot of variations. You can also add chocolate chips.
- Don’t forget to store them into an airtight container and also save them from ants.
