recipeIngredient (used american measuring cup, 1 cup = 250 ml)
  • 2 -3 tbsp ghee or oil
  • 1 cup roasted semolina (rava)
  • ½ cup chopped bananas (i used elaichi bananas)
  • 2-3 green cardamom
  • a pinch of saffron
  • ½ cup sugar or as required
  • 2½ cup hot milk or water
  • 8-10 raisin
  • 8-10 cashew-nut
  • 8-10 almond
How to make the recipe?
  1. Firstly boil milk or water separately with saffron strands, sugar, cardamom, almonds and cashews. Once the water or milk bubbles switch off the gas and add the raisins towards the end . Keep them covered.
  2. Meanwhile, take a nonstick pan add ghee or oil.
  3. Add the roasted semolina and keep stirring the semolina for 3-4 mins or until they are fragrant. Ensure you don't burn or over-brown the semolina at this stage.
  4. Time to add the chopped bananas and stir for 30 seconds.
  5. Add the boiled milk or water mixture. Keep stirring until they blend well. The pudding or halwa would start becoming thicker and leave the edges of the pan. Switch off the gas.
  6. Serve your banana sheera warm to your loved ones. Chilled sheera also tastes great have tried both.
