Eggless Dates Cake – Chocolate Dates Cake Recipe

This New year I wanted to make something different as I have made a lot of cakes. Never tried dates hence decided to make one that too eggless cake. I used my own brain to make this Eggless Dates Cake – Chocolate Dates Cake Recipe.

Dates are great for body during winter. Also dates make cake moist so you easily cut down on sugar, butter. In short due to dates cake becomes healthy and diet cake 🙂

By the way you can make a lot of varieties in Dates cake. You can make plain dates cake, Dates Cake with Nuts, Dates with Chocolate. The cake I have chosen is a combination of all three Nuts, Chocolate and dates. Sounds great right let me tell you it tastes also awesome.

Dates also known as Khajur are great for anemia and to increase Iron content in your body. Dates contain oil, calcium, sulphur, iron, potassium, phosphorous, manganese, copper and magnesium.  It is said that consumption of one date daily is necessary for a balanced and healthy diet. Dates help in fighting constipation, intestinal disorders and has great benefits.

Cakes are simple to make if you know the basic preparation. You can mix any ingredient and make different kind of cakes.

So lets start our year with making some healthy Eggless Dates Cake – Chocolate Dates Cake Recipe lols!

Total Time: 1 hour (Preparation Time 25 mins rest baking)

Ingredients:

  • 18 Dates
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 cup Refined flour
  • 1 cup Wheat Flour
  • 3 tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 25 gms Dark Chocolate
  • 1 cup Vegetable Oil ( I used Olive Oil)
  • 2 t/s Baking Powder
  • 1/2 t/s Salt
  • 7 Cashew Nuts Chopped
  • 7 Walnuts Chopped
  • 1 tbsp Sweetened Milk
  • 1 Cup Sugar ( You can use 1 1/2 cup as per sweetness you want in the cake

Method:

Grease a baking Pan with a parchment paper or butter paper at the bottom of the pan.

You can take any kind of dates. Just remove the seed if dates consists of seeds than chop them. If you taking seedless dates than just chop them.

Microwave Dates along with milk, Sweetened milk, Olive Oil and Chopped Dark Chocolate for about a minute on high power.

Let the above mixture cool down. Combine them all together in a mixer. Grind make a smooth puree of it.  Keep it aside.

Sieve thrice Wheat Flour, Refined Flour, Cocoa Powder, Sugar, Baking Powder and salt.Take another mixing bowl mix all dry ingredients.

Now make a small well in between mix the wet ingredients little by little.

Or you can also mix wet ingredients into the dry ingredients little by little. Anyway you mix ensure you combine them properly with a Spatula or spoon. Don’t over-mix. Add nuts and mix.

Take the greased pan add the cake batter. Bake at 180°C for about 25 – 30 mins. Once the toothpick inserted comes out clean from the center of cake. That means your cake is baked.

Wait for 10 mins than unmould it. Add Hersheys Chocolate syrup/ Sauce or any Chocolate Syrup or just eat Eggless Dates Cake – Chocolate Cake. This Date Cake is moist and yummy.  You can eat cold or hot.

    Hiya, I was looking for dates cake recipe and I stumbled into yours. Great recipe and what a coincidence, I have a friend who is allergic to egg, so I thought this cake would be perfect for her. I really want to try this recipe, I have one question though. Your recipe is using Refined Flour and Wheat Flour, I hardly use those kind of flours. Can I use plain or self raising instead? And I read somewhere that if we replace 1 ounce of flour with cornflour, it would make it lighter. Do you think I can use that? Thank you so much!

      Sussanna thanks for stopping by :)….. You could use self raising flour yeas you could use cornflour as well. Go ahead and lemme know how was it?
