Eggless Orange Cake Recipe

Orange Orange Orangy … hmmm don’t worry I am not trying to rhyme anything. Just wanted to tell you I was desperate to make an Orange Cake that too egg less. I did a lot of research for Orange Cakes. Not that I don’t know how to make cakes but was my first attempt to make an Orange Cake. To be honest I wanted my cake to be moist so had to be careful about the ingredients. Finally I picked my weapon my pen jotted down the ingredients. Conclusion was amazing soft moist egg less orange cake which I am gonna share with you.

I have tried lot of egg-less cakes on my own like nutella cheesecake, egg-less carrot cheesecake,egg-less dates cake. You could just click on this link for more egg-less cakes.

Eggless Orange Cake Recipe

I was thinking about the frosting of the cake. Also I didn’t wanted to use something fattening like cream or whipped cream. Also I was not in a mood to make a lot of effort for frosting my Eggless Eggless Orange Cake Recipe. I thought a lot and I came up with instant frosting with all the products available in my fridge. Don’t worry will share with you all these. Be a little Patient as I want to share with you more stuff!

Eggless Orange Cake Recipe

Next time whenever you eat oranges do remember to store the peeled skin of oranges. As the orange peel adds a lot of tangy flavor to your cake. Also orange cakes tastes yummy with the subtle tangy flavor combined with sweet and topped with Chocolate Frosting. This Eggless Orange Cake Recipe just tastes perfect. Eat anytime any day any where….

My Family just loved this cake also had some guests home and my cake got over. But don’t use brown sugar instead use icing sugar as powdered sugar will blend well in this Orange cake. I had to use brown sugar as Icing sugar was over. Guess right now it is time for me to share this Eggless Orange Cake Recipe.

Total Time: 1 hour 15 mins (1 hour baking rest making)

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Icing Sugar
  • 1 Orange with skin
  • 1 tbsp Flaxseed
  • 1/2 cup Olive Oil Or Butter
  • 1 t/s Spice (Powdered Cinnamon,Nutmeg and Cloves)
  • 1 t/s Salt
  • 1 tbsp Corn Flour
  • 1/2 cup Refined Flour
  • 1  cup Wheat Flour
  • 2 t/s Baking Powder
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 3 tbsp Milk
  • 10 Raisins
  • 1/2 cup Tutti Fruity
  • Some Almonds

For Instant Frosting:

  • 50 gms Nutella
  • 2 tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 1 tbsp Icing sugar
  • 8 to 10 Cashews and Walnuts (Optional)

Method:

Firstly remove the seeds from the oranges. Chop the skin of oranges into medium size. Now blend the oranges along with the skin, raisins, almonds and tutti fruity. Once the mixture is smooth Your orange puree is ready. Keep it aside for some time.

Take a baking tray of any shape you desire. Just ensure you leave 2 inches space in the pan for the cake to rise. Grease the sides and bottom with butter or Margarine. Take a Parchment paper or butter paper. Place the butter paper on the bottom of the pan.

Take 1 tbsp flaxseed along with 3 tbsp water. Grind to form a smooth paste.

Combine butter, sugar and beat well with a beater or hand-mixer. Now add flaxseed paste and beat well again.

In another mixing bowl incorporate all dry ingredients. Sift wheat flour, refined flour, salt, cornflour, spices, baking powder for 3 to 4 times.

Eggless Orange Cake Recipe

Now mix the dry ingredients with wet ingredients little by little. Add the orange – raisin puree along with milk. Combine all well and fold with a spatula or spoon.

Pour this cake mixture into the greased pan. Bake at 180°C for about 40 to 50 mins. Once the cake gives fragrance your Eggless Orange Cake Recipe is ready.

Serve hot Or chilled.

For Frosting:

Combine Nutella with Cocoa Powder. Also add butter and 1 tbsp Sugar. Add chopped walnuts and Cashews to it. Microwave on high power for about a minute. Now combine all this chocolate mixture well with a spoon. Your frosting is ready in jiffy minutes

Unmould the cake after 10 mins. Now pour the frosting on it when hot. Spread on the entire cake with a spatula or spoon. Once the Eggless Orange Cake is wrapped with chocolate nutella frosting. Refrigerate and eat your Eggless Orange Cake Recipe chilled or hot.

Tip:

  1. Check the cake batter sweetness before baking. If sugar is less add more sugar. Also if the cake consistency is thin add more flour. If the cake consistency is thick add more milk to it.
  2. Once the cake becomes nice brown on the top that means your cake is done.
  3. This would be a moist cake so keep checking. Please don’t over mix or over bake.
  4. If you don’t have Nutella don’t worry. Just take 3 tbsp heaped cocoa powder with 3 tbsp sugar and 1/2 cup butter. Microwave for about a minute. Combine well with a spoon and pour this frosting on your Eggless Orange Cake.

    Hi…
    i’m back again. missed asking U one more thing.. do u use the normal oranges that we get in the mumbai markets??? ripe ones but the skin is still green…
    i have seen pics of imported oranges(the skin too is “orange” in colour… the fanta color) in some blogs. hence the doubt.

      I have used the imported one as most of the times they are sweeter then the normal oranges.
