Mom’s Goan French Beans Recipe!
This recipe also known as Foogath! I have been eating these vegetable since my childhood and love the way mom prepares them. Goan French Beans is simple, divine, easy, mildly spiced and healthy. Sometimes I feel I am blessed with mom as she is such a great cook I can’t even touch her level. Her culinary skills have come naturally to me and my sis.
Taste is in my blood. If there is anything not tasty Or delicious I just don’t eat them even if I make a non tasty food. That’s me cannot help it. For me food has to be hygienic, delicious and healthy. My pet is also just like me if food isn’t tasty she won’t eat them 😉
I am thinking what to make today so most probably for tea time snacks I am gonna make Fenugreek Leaves Fritters. It would be oily but healthy too will make for mom in law and dad in law. Also my mind is always thinking what should I cook tomorrow. I will decide once I go to market today. Today my milk got spoiled so I squeezed some citric acid and made cottage cheese.
Coming back to our Goan French Beans. Even bachelors can make them easily. It’s a super easy dish to make. You could make same recipe with Ivy Gourd (Tendli), cabbage.

If I’m hungry enough or if someone has made a meal for me, I’ll eat it even if it’s not tasty. But that’s how I was raised. So now I try to save money in other areas so I can eat only tasy food at home! (Shh… don’t tell my dad!) 😉
The green chili and coconut oil sound awesome in this dish!
