Sweet Potato Wafers Or Sweet Potatoes Fries – hey are my father’s favorite snack and chips to binge on. Actually Sweet Potatoes Fries comes from South India and is a famous hot selling wafer. Sweet Potatoes Fries are also exported throughout India. I am happy I tried something new, didn’t refer and cook book Or any mode of communication. I made these Sweet Potatoes Fries on my own instinct and they come out pretty well 🙂 …..

You got to store them in an airtight box Or container. Otherwise it will start loosing it’s crispiness. Other option is bake them again for sometime to regain it’s crispiness. Best is make them and eat them the same day Or next day. My hubby loved them and he has finished all of them ;)…………

Sweet Potato Fries

This time when I go my to my parent’s house Easter I will surely make them for my father. He is just crazy about Sweet Potato Fries. I also will be content seeing him eating this. I will ask him to store some so he can enjoy them later.

I have just deep fried them and sprinkled chat masala, asofoetida and black salt at the end. It’s too tempting you just can’t eat one you will pop 5 to 6 for sure once you start eating them. Sweet Potatoes Fries are addictive. So warning you first only 🙂

Sweet Potato Wafers recipe step by step below:

  1. Firstly wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly under running tap water. As it consist lot of mud wipe with a cloth. If you see any muddy area Or brown spots peel it off with a peeler Or knife. I have left the skin of Sweet Potatoes on. I have scraped out muddy areas. Now cut them into thin wafer slices as thin as you can get. Keep this aside.

2. Take a frying pan add oil. Place on medium heat. Once oil is hot reduce the heat. Add the wafer slices to it. Deep fry until slight brown and crisp from both sides. Add few at one time don’t crowd them else they won’t fry evenly.

3. Place them on paper napkin for absorption of excess oil. Fry the rest of Sweet Potatoes.

4. Store them into an airtight container. Sprinkle chat masala, asofoetida and balck salt. Shuffle the wafers into the box Or toss the wafers. The spices will spread evenly.

  • 2 sweet potatoes (around 250 gms)
  • 1 cup refined oil
  • 1 tbsp chat masala
  • 1 t/s asofoetida (hing)
  • black salt as per taste
