Easy Bombay Duck curry recipe courtesy mom. This recipe is made instantly at the same time tastes delicious with Pav, Bread Or Rice. Its good to make on any rainy day or any day. Its my moms fusion and her specialty. The dish will just tempt you to eat more of them.

The same kind of recipe can be used with prawns, shrimps or other small fish. I haven’t tried but I am sure it will taste great.

Let’s make Bombay Duck Curry or Bombil curry step by step:

  1. Very important buy fresh Bombay Duck. Clean them and dice them into medium pieces.

2. Chop all the veggies and keep aside. Take a pan add oil. Once hot saute chopped garlic. Keep the gas on low flame. Add chopped onion along with turmeric, coriander seed powder, red chili powder, malvani masala. Saute for 2 mins more.

3. Now add chopped tomatoes. Let this cook for a minute more.

4. Add water and cook for 5 mins more.

5. Finally add bombay ducks, kokam and few coriander leaves. Lastly add salt.

6. Now cook this for 5 to 7 mins more.

7. Check the taste of curry add seasoning if required.

  • 7 to 8 Bombay Ducks
  • 1 tbsp Malvani Masala
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tbsp Coriander seed powder
  • 2 tbsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1 t/s Turmeric powder
  • 10 to 12 Garlic cloves
  • 2 Onion Or White Onion chopped
  • 1 Tomato chopped
  • 5 Kokam
  • 2 to 3 strands of Coriander Leaves
  • ½ cup water or as consistency required
  • Salt as per taste
How to make the recipe?

Notes
1. Be gentle while stirring after adding Bombay ducks else they might break.
2. You can add more chili powder if more spice required

    aubergines would taste yum in this curry, but i am not sure about french fries…. 😉

      Yeah probably you can use plain potatoes that should taste nicer!

      Replacement for Bombay Duck ….. you are making me think you could replace with aubergines and french fries 🙂
