Fish Fry Green Masala

September 23, 2013 by maria 7 Comments

Try this Fish Fry in Green Masala you will surely love it!

Fish Fry Green Masala

This recipe is one of my close friends whose name is Mark. I have slightly modified the recipe and tried to make this dish more flavorful. Fish Fry Green Masala is delectable, spicy, crispy, soft, delicious and tangy. Green Masala is spicy, coriander gives a pungent flavor and rest of spices create magic.

Fish Fry Green Masala

You could make any fish in this green masala even you could fry chicken, paneer Or tofu in the same manner. For healthy option you could bake Or grill them in less oil. I have shallow fried them for less guilt. Fish Fry Green Masala will taste great with steamed rice, pulao Or bread.

Had a friend today home hence made fish else don’t feel like preparing in this scorching heat. My friend loved it and relished to the core. In fact had made Vegetable Biryani a milder and instant version but didn’t click snaps………..

Would like to thanks Mark for this recipe 🙂 🙂

Combine coriander leaves, onion, ginger, garlic, mint leaves, onion, chilies and salt into a processor. Grind until smooth paste is formed add little water if required. But don’t add too much water as the green paste should be thick. I don’t have a pic for this one.

Wash the fish rinse excess water.

Fish Fry Green Masala

Apply the green masala over both the sides of fish. Freeze for 15 mins.

Fish Fry Green Masala

Mix roasted semolina + flour into a bowl. Place oil in a frying pan on high heat. Once oil is hot reduce the heat to medium. Sprinkle them over one side of fish.

Fish Fry Green Masala

Flip the semolina-flour coated fish over oil. Sprinkle the mixture over the rest of fish on both sides. Shallow fry from both sides until crisp and golden brown in color.

Fish Fry Green Masala

Garnish with lime wedges and onion rings. Serve the fried fish hot.

Fish Fry Green Masala

Notes for Fish Fry Green Masala:

  1. You could fry the fish Or alternatively bake Or grill them with less oil.
  2. If you like more spicy add more green chilies into the paste.
  3. You could make this in advance and freeze them upto a week. Thaw for an hour then fry them.
  4. Allow the fish to fry completely before flipping to other side else the paste would come off if not fried and cooked properly
