Fried Chicken Recipe with step by step photos. The chicken is engraved in hot Spices and tastes good. Eat with bread, rotis, or just take a bite. You could also serve this as starters. I dislike chicken in curry or gravies but fried just love them. Chicken is also called as Murgh, Kombdi in India. This recipe is of my mom and one of my hot favorite 🙂

Fried Chicken Recipe Indian

I have just changed the pics and modified this old recipe from my blog. Trying to rework on old posts by changing pics to make it better. Hope you guys will like this version of fried chicken. This recipe would also taste great as a side starter, quick meals, brunch, stuffing in burgers etc.

This is a simple recipe even Bachelors can try them. Its easy to make and delicious at the same time. You have to shallow fry this Chicken hence less oil consumption. Do dab some tissue paper once you fry the chicken to remove excess oil. You could marinate and keep overnight Or just marinate for 15 to 20 mins. When you frying them just cover with a lid. Otherwise due to moisture in the chicken the oil might spill over your face.

If you are  a vegetarian you could use Paneer Or Tofu with the same ingredients. Marinate the Paneer or Tofu with the same Masalas. You could even try potatoes which I am sure would taste yum. My hubby drools over this dish. As chicken fried is crispy from out, soft from within, is succulent, delicious and too tempting.

Most of the times when I have guests I make this as its quick, easy preparation and make some curry along with it. I am sorted with this dish it’s been my great savior many a times.  So I never waste time when I have less time on hand. Have also fried fish the same way and it tastes great too.

Let’s make Fried Chicken Recipe step by step details:

1. Firstly wash the chicken pieces. Strain all water from the chicken. Mix all the powdered spices like turmeric, red chili, black pepper, garam masala and salt. Also add vinegar. Combine all nicely. Now rub the above spice mixture on the chicken on all sides. Marinate for about 15 to 20 mins. If you want more spice you could add more chili powder.

2. Take 3 tbsp Oil in Tawa or Pan. Mix semolina + flour in a plate toss marinated chicken pieces and coat them nicely. Shallow fry them on low  heat mode. Cover the Pan with a cover or lid.

Serves: 4 to 5
recipeIngredient (used american measuring cup, 1 cup = 250 ml)
  • 2 tbsp oil for shallow frying
  • 500 gms boneless chicken
  • 1 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp garam masala powder
  • 2 tbsp black pepper powder
  • 1 t/s red chili powder
  • 1 tbsp lime juice Or 1tbsp vinegar (I used white vinegar)
  • salt as per taste
  • 2 tbsp semolina
  • 2 tbsp flour (you could use wheat flour Or rice flour)
How to make the recipe?

  4. Serve hot garnish with coriander leaves. Squeeze some lime juice over the
  5. fried chicken. Serve as a starter with bread and chutney Or serve with salad.
Notes
1. Ensure you cover the lid while frying chicken else the oil might spill over you due to moisture in the chicken.
2. If the marination spice mixture is too dry add a little more vinegar but the thicker the paste the better it would stay over the chicken.
3. Also fry on low or medium flame else you might have burnt chicken.
4. You could double up the quantity of spices if you wanna make more chicken fries.

    With 20 mins marination
Does masla went inside the flesh? And after frying no uncooked smell from chicken?

In the first picture of the chicken and marinade, there is clearly more than 1 tablespoon of liquid in the pot. What is that liquid and is it important ? Thank you.

John it’s just 1 tbsp vinegar and the rest moisture is from the chicken. Yes vinegar would add the tang flavor alternatively you could add lime juice. Hope this help’s you.

Hamida you could place the marinated chicken over-night into the freezer or fridge. Thaw until they come to room temperature. Surely try and let me know how they turned out. Also best of luck 🙂
