Goan Egg Curry

Curry is made with red paste. Spices like cinnamon, coriander seed, peppercorn, red chilies and coconut is used. I have shallow fried the egg but it’s optional. You could add boiled eggs directly instead of frying. I love the fried version of eggs though.

I have made a lot of goan vegetarian food and they all taste great. You could make kala vatana usal, vegetarian goan sorak curry and veg caldin. Goa is known for its coastal food and sea food. But vegetarian food also tastes yum.

My hubby loved this egg curry so his office mates. We often cook different kind of curries with eggs. When I am in a hurry to make something quick I tend to make egg curries and pulaos.

Maria,I’m new to your blog and loving it. Deu borem korum for a tasty recipe. Cooked it today after receiving a couple of dozen free-range eggs from a friend. Didn’t have dessicated coconut on hand so I just used freshly grated coconut instead. Also, had to do without poppy seeds as these are taboo here in the sandpit. Yes, I successfully followed your egg boiling tips and then fried the boiled eggs. To enhance the flavor I added one egg fried sunny-side up. It’s good for the presentation, too.

One of my favorite comfort food. The poppy seeds and 2 different kinds of coconut sure would give the curry a unique flavor. Bookmarking it.
