Lasooni Dal Tadka

October 18, 2014 by maria 11 Comments

My favorite food when I visit Hotels is generally Dal Tadka with Roti or steamed Rice. So I thought why not try it at home. I was zapped to see a better version of Lasooni Dal Tadka at home. The feedback I got from my mum who herself is an excellent cook was amazing. She really liked the dal and complimented me which was a great achievement for myself. at that very  moment I felt really proud of myself and patted myself…..Bravo ! Good job done Maria…..

Dal or lentils are very ancient part of Indian Cuisine. Since many centuries we have been eating Dals in various kinds and forms. Dal is anticaste what I meant is no one can make a division of dal in any state or region because Dal – Rice is a major staple diet across all over India. Yes region to region there are different kinds of Dals made with different taste and flavors like my site flavorsofmumbai.com 🙂 lol!.

Tips for Lasooni Dal Tadka:

  • While making Lasooni Dal Tadka or any kind of Dals add less salt. Once the Dal is cooked keep tasting it if its required than add more salt. If you dal becomes salty you won’t be able to reduce salt hence add less salt first and if required add more.
  • In case your dal has become salty add tomatoes which will help in making the dal less salty.
