How to Boil Shelled Peanuts (Pressure Cooker)

April 24, 2020 by maria 2 Comments

Boiled peanuts recipe with step by step photos. Boiled peanuts revives childhood memories. Peanuts with their skin are boiled along turmeric powder, salt and water. I have boiled them in pressure cooker as it saves time, energy and is more resourceful. But you could also boil them in a vessel with water.

How to Boil Shelled Peanuts (Pressure Cooker)

While shopping veggies happened to see vendor selling groundnuts. I instantly picked them and just knew what to make with them. The whole peanuts which you get in India have a lot of mud content. So just wash thoroughly under tap water to remove the mud from them. To boil peanuts with skin takes a longer time mine took around 9-10 cooker whistles and around 25-30 mins to cook.

If your peanuts are not cooked not to worry just boil for some more time. When your family sees the end result the peanuts would just vanish 😉 In my house i ate them by myself and kept some aside for hubby.

On Indian street vendors sell boiled peanuts. We prefer home-made as make how much you want and make the way you want to. Best part is to eat them while they are hot during monsoon but you could have them once they cool down. You could make these as a tea time snack which is healthy, delicious and loved by kids.

Boiled peanuts recipe step by step:
