Hmmm yum yum Corn in White Sauce one of my favorite sauces in sizzlers 🙂 Sometimes I wonder what takes me so long to make these wonderful dishes like Corn in White Sauce etc.
Lemme tell you Corn in White Sauce is simple, healthy, delicious and can be taken as soup, dips Or sauces. Corn in White Sauce was relished by one of my close friend Janki actually had made it for her!
She really loved them. Today morning me and my hubby had the leftover Corn in White Sauce as soup for morning breakfast. As usual my hubby was in two minds to have them. But he enjoyed the entire Corn in White Sauce and found it delicious and yummy.
Corn is my favorite food and I have made several type of recipes with corn uptil today like corn spinach curry, corn cheese chilly toast, corn tikki patties and pakora
Now corn in white sauce. The sauce and soup recipe is quite similar however the sauce texture is slightly thicker and creamier. Do have a look at my corn recipes listed above.
Today is 1st May had one of my best days of my life. No I haven’t won a lottery Or a new car Or new house but small things in life which makes me happy. You want to know what they are quality time with friends, being with nature, being playful, playing outdoor sports, nice chat and finally good food also doing a lot of mischief.
Not that I am not happy when we purchase something new but these tiny things in life matters a lot to me. Guess small secrets of being happy in life which we all miss because of hectic shcedules, lifestyles and other factors.
I can go on and on like a radio channel that’s me! Anyways guiding you towards the recipe now.
Total Time: boil corn 20 mins + cooking 7 mins
Serves: 4 people
Ingredients:
- 2 cups boiled corn kernels
- 3 tbsp margarine / butter/ clarified butter (ghee)
- 3 tbsp wheat flour Or refined flour (maida)
- 500 ml milk
- 4 tbsp full fat cream
- 3 tbsp freshly crushed blackpepper powder
- 3 tbsp grated cheese any type will do
- 1 tbsp dried basil leaves
- 1 tbsp sugar
- salt as per taste
Method:
- Take a pan add butter/margarine/ghee . Place on low heat.
- Put the flour in it. Keep stirring for a minute. Switch off the gas. Please don’t burn the flour.
- Add cream and little milk. Give a whisk and beat well until they all blend well. Ensure the mixture should be smooth and lump free.
- Now add rest of milk and switch off the gas. Place on low heat.
- Keep stirring continuously else might get stuck to the bottom.
- Once milk starts getting thicker add boiled corn to it.
- combine all nicely.
- Sprinkle freshly crushed black pepper powder and salt.
- Put the grated cheese into it.
- Lastly add dried basil leaves.
- Once sauce starts bubbling switch off the gas.Serve hot with sizzlers as dip Or eat like soup.
Tip:
- You can add your own choice of herbs like parsley, oregano, chilli flakes, rosemary etc.
- Also if you wish you could skip cheese.
