Dried Pink shrimps are called as Javala in Mumbai-India. Dried Javala which are commonly used in India mainly in Rainy season. These dried Javala can be instantly made and can be stored easily for up to 3 to 4 months in an air tight container. This Dried Javala Recipe is so simple to make. No special ingredients required also its quite tasty and delicious. You can eat this Dried Javala as side starter as a meal Or with Rotis and Bread. Do try this Dried Javala Recipe!
Again this Dried Javala Recipe’s courtesy my mom.This is a mixed fusion of Goan and Konkan cuisine. There are lot of dishes prepared here from dried shrimp. Like shrimp fritters, shrimp curry, shrimp prawns etc.
When you don’t feel like going to the market or shopping any vegetables. Just don’t go out make this Dried Shrimp Recipe. Cooked instantly and your family would also love them for sure.
Total Time: 25 mins
Serves: 3 to 4 People
Ingredients:
- 100 gms Dried Shrimp
- 2 Onion Chopped
- 3 to 4 Green Chilies chopped
- 7 to 8 Garlic cloves chopped
- 1/2 cup Coriander leaves
- 7 t0 8 Kokam
- 3 tbsp Oil
- 1 t/s Turmeric
- Salt as per taste
Method:
Firstly soak the dried shrimps into a bowl of water for about 15 mins. Now strain the water from it with the help of strainer or cloth.
Chop all the ingredients and keep them aside.
Take a wok or vessel add oil. Saute chopped garlic for 30 secs on low flame.
Now add chopped onion and chilies. Saute them for about a minute.
Add Turmeric and mix again.
It’s time to add dried shrimps and mix all of them.
Finally add kokam and salt.
Now keep a lid with some water and cover it for 10 mins.
After about 15 mins the shrimps must have cooked. Now serve them hot with roti, bread or steamed rice. Garnish with coriander leaves.
Tip:
- You can add brinjals, potatoes and tomatoes all 3 of them in this recipe.
