Rava Fish Fry (step by step)

June 2, 2020 by maria 8 Comments

Easy Rava Fish Fry recipe restaurant style made at home. The fish is crispy from the exterior and succulent from within. The taste is tangy, spicy and the subtle flavor coming from the fish. I have used king fish slices also known as surmai in India but you could use any firm flesh fish like salmon, bassa, pomfret etc for this recipe.

Rava Fish Fry (step by step)

Rava fish fry is a popular dish across all sea-food joints. I had made this specially for my parents and my father complimented the taste is better than the ones you get out. He also stated there are other joints who also sell this fish as tandoori fish fry however they are fooling people 😉 as this is not a tandoori recipe.

We love fish so make various styles and kind of fish at home. You could make this recipe as a starter or a side dish or even accompaniment with meals. I love to squeeze some lime, eat raw onion and eat my fish with pav (buns) or eat with rice and curry.

There are various version to make this recipe. As rava fry is made differently at Konkan, Goa, Kerala and Mumbai. My version is close to the restaurant ones. We also make goan rava fry but the spices are different for marination then used for this recipe. Also the ingredients which goes in frying this fish could be easily found in your kitchen.
