Prawns Five Spiced Fried Rice (Step by Step)

May 16, 2020 by maria 4 Comments

Five Spiced Fried Rice with step by step photos. Chinese five spiced rice made with prawns, veggies and five spiced powder. This recipe is easy, delicious and could be made in a matter of minutes if you have the boiled rice prepared in advance.

Prawns Five Spiced Fried Rice (Step by Step)

I have posted earlier the recipe of five spiced powder on the blog. You could use the store bought ones too but prefer home-made. If you are a vegetarian then skip the prawns. Also, Chinese steamed rice is made slightly different refer notes below for more detailed information.

This recipe is made quite often at our house in different ways. The authentic five spiced fried rice doesn’t consist of soy sauce but if wish to add you could it’s optional. The recipe is my own version of five-spiced rice.

However, five spiced fried rice is not so popular like veg fried rice, egg fried rice, veg spring rolls, mushroom fried rice, veg manchurian, chili paneer or szechuan fried rice. Other popular food from Indo chinese are hot and sour soup, manchow soup, noodles and stir fried rice.

Yes Amy you can substitute chicken with prawns but chicken will take a longer time to cook. So you can take boiled shredded chicken. Let us know how the rice was?
