Tomato Chutney Recipe (step by step)

June 2, 2020 by maria 4 Comments

Easy Tomato Chutney Recipe which goes well as a side dish with pulao, biryani or dosas. I had clubbed chutney with peas pulao recipe and we relish this chutney always. One of my hubby’s favorite is tomato chutney or tomato vegetable with chapatis or crusty bread.

Tomato Chutney Recipe (step by step)

This is one of the simplest dishes and made with basic ingredients found in your kitchen. I have posted earlier also an onion tomato chutney which is different from this recipe. The flavors are more towards the Konkan belt and added peanuts to get the nutty flavor and texture to this chutney.

India has so many different kind of chutney especially with coconut, peanuts, sesame and tomato chutney. In-fact even fruit chutneys are made along with green chutney etc. The chutneys ranges from spicy chutney to the sweet one.

You could also pack this for lunch box along with multi grain flatbread, rotis or toasted garlic bread. My mouth is watering right now just thinking about it. Guess would have to eat my lunch a bit early today 😉

The tomatoes should be red in color and fleshy. Don’t use unripe tomatoes for this recipe. I have used kashmiri red chili powder for some spice and color.
